PET scan imaging is the latest advancement in the rapidly developing field of medical imaging technology.
Nu-Cast has been working with medical technology developers for many years in testing and manufacturing housings and other aluminum based components for use on new scanners. A PET scan uses radiation, or nuclear medicine imaging, to produce 3-dimensional, color images of the functional processes within the human body. PET stands for positron emission tomography.
As the technology and the machines change and develop, so do the aluminum housings that are needed. Through our process of concurrent engineering, the Nu-Cast technicians work directly with their counterparts in the medical imaging field to design and test the components used in conjunction with these advanced systems. They must meet the stringent specifications developed for these machines, which is something that nobody in the aluminum investment casting industry can do better than Nu-Cast. We have more quality certifications than any other foundry in the country, including certification from Lloyd’s of London.
